Los Angeles Lakers star Anthony Davis will sign a three-year, $186 million max contract extension to remain with the team through 2028. This contract extension solidifies Anthony Davis’s position as the cornerstone of the next era of Lakers basketball. When LeBron James eventually leaves the Lakers, whether due to retirement or transferring to another team, Davis will be the focal point around which the franchise will promote itself to potential superstar partners.

With LeBron potentially leaving the NBA in 2025 after playing with his son, it could mean that upcoming 2025 free agents Jayson Tatum, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Donovan Mitchell, and Kyrie Irving could join LA if Davis proves himself and others that he is ready to lead the Lakers to the Finals and play his best out there on the court. Alongside with that, it shows how loyal Lakers superstar players are. Kobe, Magic, Kareem, and LeBron stayed on the Lakers right when they joined the team. The Lakers now have a long gameplan and I cant wait to see it play out.
