Kyle Busch claims the victory on a night were drivers such as Brad Keselowski, Ryan Newman, and Helio Castroneves made it difficult for Busch to get the victory.
To start off the race Brad Keselowski and Ryan Newman were in the front row followed by Kyle Busch in 3rd and it didn’t take long for Busch to get by Newman to claim 2nd. Halfway through the race Helio Castroneves made a charge up to lead overtaking Keselowski and would maintain it for about 25laps. With about 25 laps to go in the race Kyle would eventually overtake Keselowski and Helio to take the lead, and he would eventually hold on to the lead and win.
The victory for Busch marks as his 2nd win in a row in the SRX series, making him the 2nd driver to win back to back races since co-owner of the SRX series Tony Stewart did it back in 2021.
Keselowski and Newman would end up on the podium along side Busch while Castroneves would eventually fall down to 8th after using up all of his tires on the last run of the race. Hailie Deegan would end up getting an impressive top 5. Regining champion of the SRX series, Mario Andretti would finish 4th after he was hanging around 5th-8th the whole race. Kasey Kahne and local Berlin raceway native, Johnny Benson Jr made their SRX series debut and finished in the last 2 positions of the race.
As things sit right now in the SRX points standings, Ryan Newman is holding a 33pt lead over Keselowski, and a 34pt over Mario Andretti with 2 races remaining in the SRX season. These last 2 races would sure be filled with chaos as these 3 drivers would try and battle to win the 2023 SRX championship.
