Ever since Messi signed with Inter Miami CF he has played 2 games for the club. His first match for the team was against Cruz Azul during the Leagues Cup. This was on Friday July 21st 2023. He was benched for the first half but he didn’t disappoint. He scored a freekick at the 90+4′ minute at the end of the game. Many celebrities like LeBron James, Serena Williams, Kim Kardashian, and David Beckham who is a co-owner of Inter Miami.
Miami then went on to go against Atlanta United in their second match of the Leagues Cup. This would be the first MLS team that Messi is going against as Inter Miami’s new superstar transfer and he didn’t disappoint. He had scored 2 goals and assisted Robert Taylor for one goal all before the second half started. Inter Miami beat Atlanta United 4-0 and it looks like they will become one of the best teams in the MLS and might even get out of their rough spot on the MLS standings. They are currently on the bottom of the Eastern Conference and really need Messi to become their hero.
